A Study of the ~(14)C Age of Tufa Layer in the Zengpiyan Cave Site of Guilin

Zengpiyan cave site is a well-preserved integrated palaeo-anthropologic site with a history of 8.0~12.0 ka. In this paper, the authors have determined the ~(14)C ages of the tufa layer in the cave site and compared these ages with ~(14)C ages of shells and charcoal from ashes. Furthermore, the reliability of the ~(14)C age of the tufa layer has been demonstrated, and the last palaeo-human activity in the cave has been dated at 6.6 ka B P. The research on the tufa layer in the cave site has provided new age evidence for stratigraphic division in the cave site.
